Miracle on Madison

A quick follow up from Tuesday – Scarlett had a rough first couple of days on the new meds. She fell asleep yesterday and 3pm and slept until 10pm…She woke up and took more meds and then slept until this morning!  She seems okay now so I guess her body just needed to rest!

Below is a letter from my friend, Stephanie, that I met at MSK. Her son is also battling pediatric cancer and she sent out an email about the Miracle on Madison which takes place this Saturday.  Please read!

As many of you know this past year has been quite a journey for our family when our now three year old son, Hunter was diagnosed with ALL, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia-B Cell (B lymphocytes). In a matter of days our lives were turned upside down and changed forever and what was simply thought to be a “fever virus” suddenly became a life changing diagnosis of cancer.
However, if it were not for these amazing oncologists at Memorial Sloan Kettering, cutting edge research and life changing treatments we would have been told a very different prognosis. We are so grateful to be given the opportunity to have hope and to fight this battle. We want to do everything in our power to ensure our baby boy makes a full recovery while finding better, less toxic, yet effective cures for our Hunter and children and adults like him.
This Saturday, December 6th Town & Country Magazine is partnering up with Madison Avenue from 57th-86th Street for a day of Miracles on Madison Avenue and shopping for a cure. 20% of all proceeds raised that day will be donated to the Pediatric Center at MSK.  Last year they raised over $250K in one day for the Pediatric Center at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Please feel free to share and spread the word to  friends and family so they can come out and shop for a great cause!
As this is near and dear to our heart so are YOU. Whether or not you can come out Saturday please know how grateful we are for everything you have done for our family to date. Whether it was a generous donation, delicious meal, text/email or phone call, to check in or just a hug when we needed it most…Without you we would not have the strength to fight this battle and the courage to embrace this journey to cure our Hunter and innocent children and adults like him.
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and wishing everyone only the best this holiday season and an even better New Year filled with Good Health, Love and Happiness Always.
